Premiership winning skipper, Adrian Chad appointed for season 2020/21

PRESS RELEASE

CRICKET SOUTHERN LAKES, affiliated with the NDCA and playing as TORONTO WORKERS DISTRICT CRICKET CLUB has announced the appointment of premiership winning captain and current Lake Macquarie Attack Representative captain Adrian Chad as their First Grade Captain for the 2020/2021 Season.

“The Club is enormously proud of the effort and commitment of all players last season, but disappointed with the results achieved. We see the appointment of Adrian, a highly talented and experienced player as one of the steps needed to turn our results around and make us more competitive this upcoming season”, secretary Chris Kuszelyk said.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Corey Brown on behalf of the club for his service as our captain last season. He was thrust into the role under difficult circumstances and he proved to be a capable young leader"

“It is our aim to increase the depth and numbers of our playing roster in all areas of the Club’s involvement – Seniors, Female Cricket, Juniors and Blasters programs.”

“We have been actively talking to players, past and present, about their plans for this season as well as contacting players from other areas”.

“The Club has fielded inquiries from a number of overseas players who have expressed interest in gaining experience playing in Australian conditions. However, the coronavirus restrictions may prove a stumbling block in this regard”.

“An important part of our plan is our intention to Recruit a Senior Coach and Practice Captain and we have started seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants.”

Full details of requirements are available on the Club’s website cricketsouthernlakes.com or by contacting the Club via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter or contact the Secretary at cricketsouthernlakes@gmail.com or 0428 397 207

Applications close on 26th July 2020.
